French bulldogs have soared in popularity in recent years, even ending the Labrador retriever's 31-year reign as the American Kennel Club's most-popular dog breed in the U.S.

With notable owners like Reese Witherspoon and Megan Thee Stallion, French bulldogs are loved for their adaptability to urban living, minimal grooming needs and moderate exercise requirements.

However, despite adorable antics, the dogs, often nicknamed the "Frenchie", aren't without their health challenges. Their distinctive flat faces often cause problems such as breathing difficulties, eye problems, and skin-fold infections. Increasing health issues have even caused some to call for an end to selective breeding of French bulldogs.

Comments flooded in on the viral video, reflecting a mix of amusement and concern.

TikTok user Sarah Fox commented, "The bounce," while Caffeine and Cusswords posted: "He hit the gas before the legs were engaged."

Others, like Noodles-Sky, wrote: "I know I shouldn't laugh but it was funny!"

Thankfully, the owner reassured viewers that the Frenchie in question was completely fine after the mishap. In the caption, they wrote: "She is okay! No French Bulldogs were injured in the making of this video, so feel free to laugh."

In a later update, the owner posted, "This was a couple of weeks ago for everyone concerned she may have injured her back, she's fine," adding: "These stairs are only three steps, and she's very cautions around them now!"

This is far from the first time a Frenchie has left the internet in stitches, too. From a very vocal pup who had people laughing after chatting to commuters on a busy subway to a French bulldog who acts like a "wind up toy" whenever she gets near the stairs.
