A viral video shows the moment an out-of-control Australian driver crossed seven lanes of traffic before finally crashing into a business.
Thousands of commenters were stunned by the "mesmerizing" footage, and many agreed that the driver was lucky to be alive.
The accident occurred on September 22 in Coconut Grove — a suburb of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The following day, police shared a 7-second clip of the accident to Facebook, which has been viewed nearly 500,000 times.
Police said that the driver of a Toyota Hilux was traveling from McMillians Road towards Darwin City when she allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
At the beginning of the video, the Hilux launches over a mound of grass and into oncoming traffic. The vehicle then crosses three lanes of traffic — narrowly avoiding another car — before jumping a median into two lanes of stopped cars.
Somehow, the Hilux avoided colliding with any of the stopped cars and continued to cross two more lanes before speeding into a parking lot. Shortly after, said police, the vehicle crashed into the side of an unidentified business.
"The two passengers, a female driver and young child, were conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," police said in the post.
Superintendent Daniel Shean added: "It is incredibly lucky no one else was injured in this incident. Drivers are reminded to always drive with due care and attention."
In Northern Territory, Australia, drivers involved in a crash that results in either injury or property damage must stop at the scene of the accident and allow anyone involved to make "reasonable inquiries," according to Go To Court.
Additionally, the driver must provide assistance at the scene of the crash.
"Failing to do so may result in the driver being convicted of an offense," Go To Court said.
Northern Territory Police did not release any details on the state of the damage done to the business hit by the Hilux. Newsweek reached out to Northern Territory Police for additional information but did not hear back in time for publication.
Commenters were taken aback by the footage.
"Very lucky not to have been a more serious accident," said one commenter. "Hope the driver is ok. It is oddly mesmerizing, 'can you believe this is real?'"
"How the h*ll did she manage to avoid all those cars," added another. "That's a freaking miracle."
Responded another: "Wow! Talk about sheer luck! That could have ended far worse than it did!"
