Fortnite's legendary questline this week, "A Subtle Skirmish," has you undertaking espionage assignments at the behest of Doctor Slone.
In a sabotage campaign against the alien hordes, Slone will ask you to disable their communications equipment, harvest resources from their base of operations, and even take out some of the extra-terrestrial invaders themselves.
Newsweek has already prepared a guide for the first couple of stages in this questline, but you might find that the last mission is a bit trickier than the rest. Here, Slone will ask you to place a trio of spy probes around the island, with the goal of analyzing the mothership's abduction technology.
If you open up the quest menu, you will notice that there are eight possible spots for deploying these devices and you can mark them on your map at any time (see the above screenshot). However, even when you are given the vague locations, it is not always easy to find the contextual prompts for placing down the spy probes.
With that in mind, here are all 8 spy probe locations in Fortnite.
Spy Probe Location #1
There is a cluster of probes to the west of Misty Meadows. The location furthest to the south can be found atop a hill overlooking Slurpy Swamp.
Spy Probe Location #2
To the northwest of Misty Meadows, you can find another probe location near a fork in the road. This one is overlooking a gas station and is hidden behind some pine trees.
Spy Probe Location #3
There is a probe location tucked away in the southwest corner of the map, near a Tomatohead truck.
Spy Probe Location #4
Sandwiched between Weeping Woods and Lazy Lake there is a massive dam. At the north side of this structure, near a zip line pole, you will find a spot for deploying one of your probes.
Spy Probe Location #5
At the southern outskirts of weeping woods, there is a group of stone monuments. Next to the monolith that has overturned, you will find a probe location.
Spy Probe Location #6
To the east of Boney Burbs, you will find Flopper Pond. There is a probe location overlooking the water here.
Spy Probe Location #7
Probe number 7 is one of the hardest to find, as it is not particularly close to any named landmarks. The location is due south of the aftermath point on the map (the big purple area) and is atop a mountain overlooking one of the big satellite dishes.
Spy Probe Location #8
To the south of Viking Vessel (near Holly Hatchery), you will find the last probe location. It is adjacent to an S-shaped bend in the road.
