God of War Ragnarök offers players quite a bit of information when they first jump in, including details on how to parry and even how to stagger enemies using the stun mechanic.
But there are a lot of things the game doesn't tell you, which makes sense, as developers don't want to bog down their players too much. Before you dig into Kratos' latest journey, though, make sure you've got a good grip on these five things the game doesn't tell you.
You Can Pull Enemies to You
One of the handiest tricks you'll find as you make your way through God of War Ragnarök is the ability to actually pull enemies to you. This can be accomplished by using the Blades of Chaos.
Alternatively, once you've unlocked some additional skills, you can actually throw enemies away from you using the same attacks. This allows you to close the gap easily or throw away exploding enemies like Nightmares or Exploding Wretches.

You Can Disable Skills
As you level up and gain experience in God of War Ragnarök, you'll gain access to tons of new skills and combos. But, if you don't like a certain combo, you're not stuck having to deal with it interrupting your combat flow.
Instead, you can actually visit the Skill Menu and press Triangle on the PlayStation controller to disable the skill entirely, making it so that the combo can't even be triggered during gameplay. This is handy if you get a decent flow down with certain combos, only to find that another combo throws that flow off.
You Can Manual Save A Lot
This is a creed that many gamers already know and follow religiously. However, if you weren't aware, God of War Ragnarök comes with 60 slots for manual saves. This means you can save often––whenever you feel the need to––and always come back without an issue. This is very handy if you find secrets you want to explore or if you just want to ensure you can respawn right back where you last were.

Experience Points Aren't Just for Leveling Up
When you're on the grind, especially in the early game hours, it can be easy to forget that experience isn't just used to level up Atreus and Kratos' abilities. You'll also want to make sure you allocate some of those points for upgrading Kratos' Blood Rage ability, as well as the power of your Runic Skills and Runic Summons.
Mystic Gateways Heal You
Mystic Gateways aren't just used to fast travel in God of War Ragnarök. Players can also stop by these mystical gates to refill their health and Blood Rage Meter at any point in time. This is especially handy before heading into boss fights, as it'll ensure you are at maximum capability before heading inside.
Of course, there are plenty of other things that God of War Ragnarök doesn't tell you. But these should at least help you get a head start as you make your way through the Nine Realms.
