Gossip Girl Season 2, Episode 4, titled "One Flew Over the Cuck's Nest," saw the students of Constance St. Jude's celebrate (or wallow in) Valentine's Day.

To celebrate the occasion, as expected, Monet de Haan (played by Savannah Smith) threw an epic Valentine's Party, and in true Gossip Girl fashion, there were a few epic showdowns exposing the lies ingrained in the Upper East Side.

From JC (Jordan Alexander) and Luna (Zión Moreno) teaming up to expose Grace's (Anna van Patten) infidelity, to Gossip Girl's identity on the verge of being exposed, there is a lot to process from Episode 4.

Newsweek has the four most dramatic moments below.

Gossip Girl Season 2, Episode 4 HBO Max Recap

1. Grace's Infidelity Exposed

The scale of Grace's cheating was exposed to be bigger and darker than expected.

Audiences learned at the end of Episode 3 Grace was cheating on Obie (Eli Brown) with her ex-boyfriend, Matias (Javier Reyes Sanchez). In Episode 4, Grace revealed to Matias she had to pretend to date Obie to please her mother, and poor Obie was none-the-wiser that Grace had zero interest in him.

However, Grace could not keep her affair secret for long after JC caught them in the act. JC made a sly attempt to make Grace crumble under pressure about her infidelity, but Grace openly admitted it to JC once confronted which was a huge mistake.

In a bid to protect her ex-boyfriend (and win back his friendship), JC caused a monumental scene at the Valentine's Day party, with the help of Luna.

She invited Matias as her date, not only to make Grace uncomfortable (she pretended to not know Matias) but to also expose their romance. JC also made sure to invite Grace's mom and her brother, and when Grace's mom spotted Matias talking to Grace, the truth came spilling out.

It soon transpired Grace was not only cheating on Obie with Matias, but she was also sleeping with her brother, in a dark twist that nobody could have seen coming.

2. Monet de Haan's Parents

Nobody ever knows what goes on behind closed doors and for Monet de Haan, her parents' martial issues and her father's alleged affair were exposed all over Gossip Girl.

But when Monet invited her parents Camille (Amanda Warren) and Greyson de Haan (Rick Worthy) to her party as well as her father's alleged lover, Jennifer, the reality of the situation stunned Monet into silence.

Both of Monet's parents were having romantic and sexual relations with Jennifer and they were all in agreement.

Once again, Monet's mother put Monet back in her place, berating her for making a scene in public and questioning her life choices whilst she gets to live how she wants to, leaving Monet feeling more vulnerable than ever.

3. Shan Spills The T

At the end of Episode 3, Shan (Grace Duah) overheard Zoya's (Whitney Peak) dad (Jordan Fernandez) on the phone with JC's father, Davis (Luke Kirby), talking about their financial arrangement.

Unknown to JC and Zoya, Davis, who is facing sexual assault allegations, is paying for Nick's apartment.

Shan was torn between telling Zoya the truth or keeping it to herself but when Zoya snapped at Shan and blamed her for all the drama in life, Shan had enough.

She kissed the boy Zoya had a crush on and when Zoya found out, Shan told her the scathing truth about her father. To make matters worse, the tip was posted on Gossip Girl, meaning Zoya's family business was out in the air for everybody to comment on.

4. Kate Keller/Gossip Girl Is in Trouble

Constance St. Jude's teachers Kate (Tavi Gevinson) and Mike (Pico Alexander) turned their friendship into romance on Valentine's Day, finally addressing the sexual tension between them and sleeping together.

However, whether Mike's feelings for Kate are real are being questioned by fans, as at the end of Episode 3, it seemed as if he suspected Kate to be Gossip Girl.

In Episode 4, when Mike left his bedroom to grab some water, he received a text message from an unsaved number asking if he was close to uncovering Gossip Girl. From the kitchen, Kate could see him replying to the message with the words "I'm getting closer, don't worry."

Did Mike just sleep with Kate to get closer to Gossip Girl or has he mixed business with pleasure and developed feelings?

One thing is for sure, it looks like Gossip Girl's identity is on the line.

What will Kate do next?

Episodes of Gossip Girl Season 2 drop every Thursday on HBO Max.
