There's a fresh face joining the staff at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on the upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Booksmart actress Beanie Feldstein is set to make her Season 16 appearance on the ABC medical drama series on Thursday night. Feldstein will play a new intern at the fictional Seattle hospital on episode 15, titled, "Snowblind." In a sneak peek clip of the episode, the 26-year-old actress appears in scrubs and a lab coat and introduces herself as Tess Desmond to Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.)

Webber is practicing a Laparoscopic cholecystectomy—the technical name of a gallbladder removal—when Tess enters the room and asks why he, a medical expert and well-experienced surgeon, would still need to practice after performing "a million of those."

"I'm experienced because I practice," Webber replied.

Tess is quite obviously a fan of the doctor and aims to set herself apart from the new lackluster residents currently working at the hospital. "I just don't get it. Those residents, they work their butts off, they go into a mountain of debt all for a chance at the greatest job on the planet, and they treat it like it's retail," she said.

Tess' statement seems to win Webber over. It helps that Webber already complained to Dr. Miranda Bailey (Shandra Wilson) that the new residents weren't Grey Sloan material. So he invites the new young intern to test out her skills. "Well, Dr. Desmond, won't you step over here and let's what your Laparoscopic skills are like," Richard said as he moved away from the practice surgery station.

Gallbladder removal may not be the only insight Webber imparts on Tess. The episode synopsis hinted at Webber taking over and training her on the job while many of the Grey Sloan Memorial doctors are stuck snowed-in.

While the snowstorm will leave some staffers stranded, Dr. Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) will use the storm as an opportunity to help the community. He'll do this by volunteering to perform a "life-threatening task" in the middle of the blizzard, according to the synopsis. His "uncharacteristic behavior" will leave doctors Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) puzzled.

In another area of the hospital, Bailey continues to help her latest patient, Joey (Noah Gerry), who is still recovering from his operation and worried about the fate of his adopted siblings. Bailey's growing concern for the teen and his little brother and sister may cause her to try and help him in a surprising way.

Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET.

Viewers can tune into the episode via live stream on ABC's website and app with a cable provider login. Those with Hulu +Live and YouTube TV can also stream the show in real-time on those platforms.
