The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) fans have spotted a clue that suggests Heather Gay may never reveal what really happened to her eye.
The Bravo star left fans shocked on the latest episode when she revealed her much-teased black eye to her co-stars, but refused to say how she had sustained it.
Gay woke up with the painful-looking bruised eye after a night of partying in San Diego with her co-stars Jen Shah, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas and Danna Bui-Negrete.
Fans were left in the dark as to how Gay got the black eye, and have now spotted a clue in the trailer for the upcoming third season of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip that suggests it will stay that way.

Gay is featuring in the spinoff series with RHOSLC's Rose, The Real Housewives of Potomac's Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard Bassett, The Real Housewives of Miami's Alexia Echevarria and Marysol Patton, former The Real Housewives of New York City star Leah McSweeney, and Porsha Williams, former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
A trailer for the season was shown at BravoCon earlier this year and some of the footage, including a snippet of Gay talking about her eye, has made its way onto social media.

In the clip, Gay is sitting with her co-stars on a sofa when she says: "I don't recall how I got the black eye."
Dillard Bassett replies: "I don't believe it," as another voice, though it is unclear who, says: "No one believes it!"
The footage suggests that Gay has still not revealed who or what caused her black eye at the time of the Ultimate Girls Trip filming.

Filming took place over the summer of 2022, after filming for RHOSLC Season 3 had wrapped, meaning we are not likely to find out what happened to Gay's eye on the current installment of RHOSLC.
Fans will need to wait and see whether Gay will open up to her Ultimate Girls Trip co-stars about what happened that night, or if she'll continue to say she "doesn't recall."
Gay's wording in the clip is interesting as, at the very end of December 21's RHOSLC episode, she told a producer that the issue wasn't that she doesn't remember what happened, it was that she was choosing not to talk about it.
She contradicted herself a few times throughout the episode, initially saying: "We're not sure what happened last night, but things got a little rough," when revealing her injury to the rest of the cast, before adding seconds later: "Well, I think we all know what happened. I just think we don't wanna talk about it."

A producer was also seen asking Gay what she thinks happened in her solo confessional interview, to which she responded: "Well, what does it look like?...I'm just gonna shut down and I'm not gonna talk about it."
The producer later asked: "So you're not going to tell us what happened?" as Gay said: "Well, I can't, and that's the game of all of this. Like, I'm not gonna say it until somebody else says it, you know what I mean? Like, I'm not gonna spew my theories until everybody spews theirs. Like, this is just a game of, like, Texas hold'em, and nobody is showing their cards."
Newsweek has contacted Bravo and RHOSLC for comment.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 3 continues Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. The previous two seasons are available to stream on Peacock.
