Tributes are pouring in for Ivan Reitman, renowned comedy director who has died at the age of 75.
Known for hit movies like Ghostbusters and National Lampoon's Animal House, the Canadian director and producer Reitman died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday night at his home in Montecito, California, his family has confirmed.
"Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life," children Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman and Caroline Reitman said in a joint statement to AP.
"We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always."

Some of Reitman's other notable works include Meatballs, Stripes, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Dave, Junior and Six Days, Seven Nights.
He also produced Beethoven, Old School and EuroTrip.
Director Paul Feig—who directed the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters—is leading the tributes to the late filmmaker.
