It can be hard for dogs to adapt to new members of the family, especially when they are treated like babies before their owners become parents.
Sam Perlow, 32, has recently discovered how his rescue dog acts when he naps with his 3-month-old daughter. The hilarious moment was captured on camera by Perlow's wife, Molly, also 32, and shared on TikTok five days ago (@twindaddiaries). Perlow can be seen taking a nap with his sleeping daughter on his left arm, while Percy, the mixed breed, sits right next to them, with his eyes fixed on Sam.
The Boston-based dad told Newsweek: "Percy has always slept in bed with us and he loves to snuggle. When my wife showed me the video of him looking at me and one of the girls, I couldn't stop laughing."

"He has so much personality, and it comes through every day. He makes us laugh and brings so much joy to our family, and I'm glad so many people got to see a little piece of him in this video," Perlow said.
"My favorite times of day are waking up with him in the morning and snuggling him before bed. I'm sure it's been an adjustment with the twins, but he truly has embraced his sisters."
The text layered over the clip reads: "My wife told me how jealous he was but I didn't believe her until she showed me this video."
So far, the clip captioned, "We have to make some more room in the bed these days," has almost 2 million views since it was shared on October 26.
Seven-year-old Percy may not look impressed in the video, but his owner said that the dog is an "incredible big brother".
"His gentleness and love for them was evident from day one as he was so happy and softly kissed them when we brought them home from the hospital," added Perlow.
The hilarious video boasts almost 100,000 likes and plenty of comments from users who are demanding for more space to be made for the canine.
"Dad has another arm he can snuggle into," wrote one user, while another posted: "The look of absolute betrayal."
"That fur baby needs extra love and treats," commented a third.
While it's easy to see the funny side of the video, it is important for owners to never leave their canine alone with a child. Canada-based dog trainer Shalina Seifert previously told Newsweek how owners can prepare their pets ahead of a baby's arrival.
