Farrah Brittany and Alexia Umansky have told Newsweek what advice their mom, Kyle Richards, gave them ahead of filming their new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills.
The sisters are starring together in the reality television series, which follows the lives of the agents and clients at luxury real-estate firm The Agency, alongside Richards' husband, Mauricio, who owns the company.

Both Farrah and Alexia have featured on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as Richards, 53, has been part of the show since it began in 2010.
However, this will be the first time that Farrah and Alexia are stepping out of their mom's shadow, offering a more intimate look at their own lives.
Following the show's release on Friday, the stars said that Richards, who is by now well versed in the ups and downs of being part of a reality-television cast, did share some of her wisdom before the pair let the cameras into their lives.
Farrah, who is the daughter of Richards and her first husband, told Newsweek: "She basically just told us, 'Be true to yourself,' and it's so true because everything else is kind of out of your control and people can kind of do a show to pander to an audience or whatever, but you can't sustain that over time, and it's just not going to work."
The 34-year-old added: "You just need to really dig deep and be who you are, even if it might be stressful at times being super vulnerable.
"I know, in Alexia's moments, there were scenes where she was, like, 'Oh no, am I sharing too much?' But, honestly, I just think it made it so much more relatable.
"So, [mom] basically just said, 'Just be yourselves,' and that's all I can do," Farrah added.

The family have been filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for almost 13 years, and Alexia, 26, said of their mom's show: "That's just really us being a family and being comfortable in our home, and I feel like that's the relief in all [the Housewives] chaos sometimes, is the family being together.
"Then we got thrown into [our own show], and we're really picking at our careers under a magnifying glass."

Farrah's father is real-estate tycoon Guraish Aldjufrie, but The Agency boss Mauricio, 52, has been a part of her life since she was just five years old. He says in the Buying Beverly Hills premiere that he doesn't think Farrah views him as her "stepfather."
"I certainly don't think of her as my stepdaughter," adds Mauricio, who shares with Richards daughters Sophia, 22, and Portia, 14, as well as Alexia.
Buying Beverly Hills is available to stream now on Netflix. Seasons 1-12 of RHOBH are available to stream on Peacock.
