Hilarious food-related "fail" stories tend to spark broad discussions on social media platforms, whether it's a woman ordering a tiny burger and fries for her rescue cat or a new trend revealing a "healthy" recipe for a homemade Coke.
Recently, a Reddit post has gone viral after one user shared an image of a pizza they had accidentally ordered—without any toppings.
Under the username u/Crunch1eTwix, the OP (original poster) shared the post on the r/CasualUK subreddit on Monday, captioning it "Shoutout to Papa John's for honouring my post-pub late night order of accidentally removing every item on a BBQ meat feast, thinking I was adding them."
Since then, the post has amassed a total of 8,800 upvotes as well as 327 comments.

In the post, the OP attached two images, with the first one depicting a pizza without toppings and what appears to be barbeque sauce. Meanwhile, the second image is a screenshot of the user's order from Deliveroo, a well-known delivery service.
The screenshot revealed that the user had ordered one large "BBQ Meat Feast" pizza, one "Garlic Pizza Stick" and three "Special Garlic Dips" from Papa John's.
However, it appears as the OP had accidentally removed all the toppings from the pizza while they were filling out specifications for the order, thinking that they were adding the toppings instead.
As the caption states, it was a "post-pub late night order," implying that the OP may have been intoxicated while placing the order.
In typical Reddit fashion, many users rushed to the comment section to share their reactions to the post.
"The one time you'd want them to mess up your order," one user wrote.
"So you literally just got baked bbq sauce on baked dough," another commenter said.
"[I would have] cried," another Redditor commented.
Meanwhile, one user shared a relatable story of how they were once in a similar situation: "I did this accidentally once, thought I'd added extra cheese but no I'd removed it," they wrote.
Others were wondering as to what was going through the OP's mind when they were placing the order.
"Wait, did you think you had to manually add each topping to the order yourself or did you think you were doubling the toppings? so many questions....," one user commented, to which the OP had responded with the following: "Manually. I even remember thinking 'this is weird' at the time but didn't register/compute the word 'remove' at the beginning," they clarified.
While many Redditors pointed out that the Papa John's pizzas are usually on a more expensive side, one user asked about whether the pizza was delicious: "How did it taste?"
"Worth every penny of the £40 order value!," the OP replied.
One commenter was also curious as to why the OP couldn't call the restaurant in an attempt to change the order if they were able to notice and screenshot their mistake: "If you could screenshot the order [page] like that, surely you could call them to sort the mistake out?"
The OP had then responded that "regrettably," by the time they had noticed and called the restaurant, the kitchen was already closed.
According to Statista, Papa John's had "3,164 restaurants in its domestic market" in the U.S. recorded in 2021. The majority of those restaurants operate as "delivery and carryout stores."
Statista also revealed that as of 2021, Texas was the state that had the most amount of Papa John's restaurants (305 in total). In addition, the statistics on pizza chains in the U.S. that had the biggest sales in 2020, revealed that the top three included franchises such as Domino's Pizza Pizza Hut and Little Caesars.
