A Chihuahua's hilarious reaction to unexpected attention has been caught on camera in a hilarious TikTok video.

Rebecca lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her dogs Cody and Ollie. Seen in the clip shared on December 1, Cody's priceless facial expressions got amused attention from viewers.

The video showcased the priceless moment when the unsuspecting pup received some impromptu pets from his owner. Casually lounging on his bed when the owner decided to shower him with affection, the 9-year-old pup looks less than impressed.

"He is always judgmental of me giving any affection without his permission," Rebecca told Newsweek. She laughed and added: "I always refer to him as my cat because unless provoked I should not try to speak or touch him."

The text overlay read: "Me thinking I could show my chihuahua affection without his permission."

As his owner extends a hand to pet him, the little Chihuahua shoots her a serious side-eye that has had viewers in stitches.

With more than 600,000 views and hundreds of comments, the comment section was bursting with reactions to the canine comedy.

One viewer, Mick3y, remarked, "The way he rises up lmfao." This observation highlights Cody's almost theatrical response: It's as if he's asserting his personal boundaries with a touch of dramatic flair.

Another viewer, Shelbey, couldn't help but notice a particular detail, writing, "It's the slow turn for me." Indeed, Cody's deliberate turn of the head adds an extra layer of humor. It seems that he's emphasizing the gravity of the unexpected intrusion into his personal space.

While we usually associate dogs with loving attention, not all dogs love to be petted. It's essential to pay attention to dogs' body language and signals to understand whether they are enjoying the attention they're getting or would rather you backed off.

Body language that may mean your dog isn't keen on the attention he is getting includes moving or leaning away from you, ducking its head, tail tucking and tensing up. More obvious, you might notice growling, snapping or even trying to bite. These are all signs that it is a good idea to give the animal some space.

Thankfully, it seemed that Cody was perfectly comfortable, if a little bit less than keen on the attention he was being given at that moment.

"His sour patch personality is my favorite," his owner said. "He is the funniest dog but outside of the judging me part, he loves humans."

Viewer Beth chimed in, pointing out Cody's unmistakable expression: "He gave you the 'unhand me' face."

It seems Cody's side-eye is not just a random canine gesture but a full-fledged statement of disapproval and an apparent demand for autonomy.

TikToker Lovely contributed to the commentary with a keen observation: "The way he had to turn his body to look at you better."

Cody's meticulous adjustment of his body only amplified the hilarity of the moment, as the dog delivered the perfect side-eye.

Rebecca was thrilled that so many people enjoyed the video of Cody.

"I love seeing people find the humor that I do in the videos I post," she said. "It's a trip to see how much this little dog can make hundreds or thousands of people laugh in a world that can feel so harsh at times."
