Lauren Boebert appeared to make light of a recent scandal to voters in her new district.
The Colorado congresswoman introduced herself to Baca County Republicans on January 5 to explain her role in Congress. In her introductory remarks, Boebert told voters: "Many of you known who I am... I don't have to ask like the ushers at the Buell Theater."
In September, Boebert was caught on film at a screening of the film Beetlejuice. Seen fondling each other on tape, Boebert and her date were eventually kicked out. Footage also showed her vaping and raising her middle finger at employees as she was asked to leave.
Theater representatives quoted her as saying: "Do you know who I am?"
Initially, Boebert told her followers on X, formerly Twitter, on September 13 that she "did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre" and denied vaping.

Amid accusations surrounding her behavior, she said she pleaded "guilty to laughing and singing too loud."
Campaign Manager Drew Sexton said: "I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of 'Beetlejuice.'"
Despite the pushback, Boebert eventually apologized and said her behavior "fell short of my values."
"I genuinely did not recall vaping that evening when I discussed the night's events with my campaign manager," she said. "We do understand the nature of how this looks."
Boebert has since announced she would be standing down from her seat in the Centennial state to take over from fellow Republican Ken Buck, who is due to retire later this year.
Boebert said the announcement was made "following a pretty difficult year for me and my family" and a divorce. She currently holds a majority of just over 500 in her district.
She said: "I had never been in politics before and I'd never been through a divorce, something I never intended to go through. I've made my own personal mistakes and have owned up and apologized for them."
This week, Silt Police Chief Mike Kite said there is an "ongoing investigation" into an incident at a restaurant attended by Boebert and her ex-husband Jayson Boebert. Boebert has denied punching her former spouse.
In a statement provided to Newsweek, she said: "This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I'm moving. I didn't punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options."
Jayson Boebert told The Denver Post: "I don't want nothing to happen... Her and I were working through a difficult conversation."
