Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 may not be coming to Netflix until Christmas 2020 at the earliest, but all but one of its episodes have already been filmed. This means that the cast and crew already know that Season 5B has in store for their characters, and they have been dropping little hints in interviews about what Lucifer and Michael (played by Tom Ellis), Dan (Kevin Alejandro) and Ella (Aimee Garcia) will face in the next eight episodes.
What happens to the Lucifer characters in Season 5, Episode 2?
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Lucifer Season 5
Michael
Lucifer's identical brother was only introduced at the start of Lucifer Season 5, which means that viewers have plenty to learn about him. Luckily, his back story will be a major part of the next eight episodes. Co-showrunner Joe Henderson teased in a Variety interview, "the second half of Season 5, you get to understand Michael a little bit more and where he's coming from."
He later added in an Entertainment Weekly article: "It was very important to us to make sure Michael was the hero of his story. That's one of the things you don't see a ton of in the first half, but it is something we will dig into later and understand his perspective and that is an element of it."
God
The big midseason cliffhanger was the appearance of God (Dennis Haysbert). He may have come to earth to stop his children fighting, but his appearance will have an impact on other cast members. Henderson teased to Variety: "Keep in mind who Dan used to date [God's ex-wife], and the possible implication. You don't think we're going to play with that? Every season, we try to torture Dan...No stone will be left unturned."

Mostly, though, his appearance will have an impact on Lucifer. Co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich teased to Entertainment Weekly: "If you think about the fact that God shows up, we like to relate it to when we go back home to Thanksgiving; you tend to revert a bit, right? And sort of become a child and start acting like what you did when you were younger. I think the presence of God could have that effect. With Lucifer, it's always about taking one step forward but two steps back."
Linda
In the first part of Lucifer Season 5, we learned that Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) once gave up a daughter for adoption. Asked whether this daughter will appear in Season 5B by EW, Henderson said, "that would be smart."
Dan
Dan (Kevin Alejandro) has had a bad Season 5 so far, made worse when he saw Lucifer's true form. The actor, however, told Tale Tale TV: "That's just the beginning...we spiral out of control when it comes to true realizations of self-change, and it's an uncontrollable sort of spiral until you're able to sort of re-assess and re-gain a new stability and what that looks like. And you really get to watch Dan go through that."
Ella
Just as things seemed to be going well for Ella (Aimee Garcia) is Season 5, she discovered that new boyfriend Pete was a woman-hating serial killer. Asked what this means by EW, Garcia said: "This season we're going to see her break," while Modrovich added, "what you've just seen is the midpoint of her arc. A lot of [Ella's storyline] is going to be dealing with that crisis of self and the fact crisis of self and the fact that she tried to let someone in and got betrayed and hurt in an absolutely terrible way."
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 is coming soon to Netflix.
