Lucifer Season 5 is finally here and with the new episodes came more celestial family drama than ever before seen on the Netflix show.

Tom Ellis does double duty in Season 5, Part 1 as not only dies her return as the eponymous Lucifer Morningstar, he also plays his twin brother, Michael, as in, Michael the archangel.
The Season 4 finale saw Lucifer reveal his true identity to love interest Chloe (Lauren German) before tragically returning to hell to assume control leaving them both heartbroken, but in a classic Parent Trap style twist, Michael arrived on Earth in the guise of Lucifer to wreak havoc on his life.
But now fans are wondering if Lucifer goes back to hell?
The short answer is, we don't know for sure. The final episode of Season 5, Part 1—appropriately titled "Spoiler Alert"—saw an unexpected intervention come from above as Lucifer and Michael's father, God himself, arrived.
"That's enough!" said God, appearing and played by Dennis Haysbert. "Children, I hate it when you fight."
So Lucifer may well be heading to heaven for the second half of the season, never mind hell.
Season 5 was split into two parts due to the coronavirus pandemic halting production, but it looks like fans won't have too long to wait for the next batch of instalments.
Ellis earlier in August, Ellis told Da Man magazine: "Thank you! We were agonizingly close to wrapping but lockdown beat us. So, we still have 60 percent of our season five finale to shoot."
Production Weekly reported that the show would return to finish filming in Los Angeles in mid-October but Netflix has not yet confirmed any dates.
As for plot details, Ellis hinted at a possible Deckstar wedding.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "Well, if it's the right person, like it has been in my actual life. But yeah, who knows? Could the Devil get married? In the presence of God? We'll see."
All might not be well in the world of Lucifer when Season 5, Part 2 comes to an end, as Ella Lopez star Aimee Garcia teased to CBR: "All I can tease is that you will laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp. And Part 2's going to be a ringer. I'm so sorry in advance. It's going to be a fun party, and then it's going to rip your heart. So maybe get... one to two boxes of Kleenex."
