A man in Georgia was shot in the stomach during an argument with his brother-in-law, according to a police report.

Atlanta police were alerted to reports of a possible shooting on Hermer Circle at about 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 23.

When officers arrived they found the victim had been shot in the stomach, according to an Atlanta Police Department report. The department reported the victim was alert and conscious.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, a database that collects information about shootings from across the United States, 25 people have been injured in shootings in Atlanta since October 1 of this year.

The same database found that nine people in Atlanta had been shot dead since October 1 of this year.

According to the police report, the victim was alert, conscious and breathing and transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim and his brother-in-law were in a verbal altercation that escalated to the victim being shot. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances around the incident. Atlanta police have not released any information about the victim's current condition or whether an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting.

In September, a karaoke night in Cutler Bay, Florida, ended with gunfire following a dispute over whose turn it was to sing on stage next.

Witness Zachary Ramos told WPLG-TV the two men got into an argument on stage before it turned into a brawl that spilled out onto the parking lot outside Sandbar Sports Grill.

Ramos added both men then pulled out guns and started firing at one another. The witness said he heard between 10 and 20 gunshots as he rushed to protect his friends, his dog, and himself.

Miami-Dade police later confirmed that three people had been injured in the shooting.

That same month, a father was shot dead at an engagement party that he attended with his wife and children in a California suburb.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the victim, Edgar Rodriguez, 29, was one of the hundreds of guests at a party hosted at a banquet hall in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Rodriguez was shot multiple times in the upper torso and was later identified by family members at the party. Police said the suspect was a man in his 40s who fled from the scene.

Another argument at a Chick-A-Boom drive-thru in Pennsylvania resulted in a 19-year-old being shot dead.

The teenager was fatally gunned down at the restaurant on the 4600 block of Lancaster Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, September 4.

Police reportedly told ABC6 that the teenage victim had been shot eight times.
