A man and a woman have been found dead following an apparent murder-suicide at a Florida home, according to police.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) said officers were alerted to reports of a stabbing at 2742 Gramercy Drive at about 6:17 p.m. on Monday.
When officers arrived they found two people dead inside the home.
According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in five homicide victims is killed by an intimate partner.

More than half of female homicide victims in the U.S. are killed by a current or former male intimate partner.
A VCSO spokesperson said in a Monday news release: "The information gathered at this early stage of the investigation suggests the man stabbed the woman and then himself.
"She was pronounced deceased on the scene while the male subject was pronounced deceased at the hospital about an hour later. Three children at the house were not injured."
The statement continued: "The sheriff's office investigation is active and ongoing and we just ask for your patience while detectives continue their work.
"On behalf of Sheriff [Michael] Chitwood and the entire agency, the surviving children have our thoughts, prayers and commitment to provide a thorough investigation and access to all the resources they will need."
Police did not share further details about the identities of the deceased or what happened to the three children.
Newsweek has contacted VCSO for comment.
