Whitney Way Thore receives an update on her mom's health in a new clip from My Big Fat Fabulous Life on TLC.

It was confirmed earlier this year that Babs Thore, who regularly appears on her daughter's TLC reality show, had suffered a second stroke after recovering from her first back in 2017.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life returned to TLC in August for Season 10 and in the season premiere, Thore and family were seen dealing with the aftermath of Babs' stroke.

In emotional scenes Thore cried while on the phone to her father Glenn, saying: "I just don't want her to suffer," to which he responded: "I can't believe she's taken a turn for the worse."

It was then revealed that as well as her stroke, Babs had caught COVID-19, as had her husband Glenn and Whitney's brother Hunter.

While the virus looked set to complicate Babs' recovery, a new clip from Episode 2 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 10, exclusive to Newsweek, shows that Babs surprises her whole family by making a miraculous recovery.

In the footage, which will air on TLC on August 16, dancer Thore is in her kitchen when her phone rings. She answers and her dad tells her: "I'm so excited." Thore immediately knows he must have good news and bursts into tears.

Glenn continues: "I think that Babs has been accepted to the rehab in Cone. The doctors looked at her chart and think that she's a good candidate for rehab," as Thore breathes a huge sigh of relief.

Thore then tells the TLC cameras in a confessional: "My family has been waiting on pins and needles to hear this news that my mom was accepted into rehab so, I mean, this is the biggest stepping stone that she could possibly have on her way to recovery.

"I know it's my mom that got the rehab but I feel like I have a new lease on life, honestly, I'm so happy."

Glenn then hangs up the phone and Thore explains to the cameras what exactly leaving the hospital and moving to the rehab means for her mom.

"They're giving her a chance to enjoy the rest of her life. This honestly feels like a dream. It does not even feel real to me. The emotional roller coaster that we have been on, to now end up here, is so amazing," she gushes.

Elsewhere on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Thore is facing some potential drama with her ex-boyfriend and new co-worker Lennie Alehat.

Whitney has hired her former partner to help her film her online fitness videos and though her friends have doubts about this decision, she has insisted they will be keeping their relationship strictly professional.

She also confirmed in the previous episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life that she is still dating her French boyfriend, who does appear on the series and is known only as "the Frenchman."

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 10 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC. Episodes are available to stream on Discovery+ the same day.
