Warning: This story contains spoilers for Obliterated Season 1 on Netflix.
Netflix just dropped one of its most hotly anticipated shows of 2023 and as people are sure to binge it over the coming days, there will be one question they're asking—are we getting more?
Obliterated is the high-octane series where action meets comedy in a cross-section of genres that is bound to appeal to all kinds of viewers.
The series follows an elite special forces squad who manage to stop a deadly threat to Las Vegas, and inevitably turn to booze, drugs and sex in Sin City to celebrate their victory.

But just as the liquor and booze kicks in, the very intoxicated team learn the nuclear bomb they thought they'd stopped was a fake and in fact, need to get back to work to save thousands of lives.
What ensues is chaos, combined with advanced actions scenes, unbelievable comedic moments combined with an inclusive class of characters from all backgrounds, sexualities, races, gender and ages.
Obliterated's creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald are best known for their work on the Harold & Kumar film franchise and the Karate Kid spin-off Cobra Kai.
They have been wanting to make a version of Obliterated for about 15 years and originally set out to make it as a movie.
"Vegas felt like the perfect place for this because of the contrast of how serious the operation was, and how high stakes the operation was, which contrasts really well with the behaviour that goes on in Las Vegas, and sort of the spectacle of Las Vegas," Hurwitz told Newsweek.
"And to have those two colliding, felt so perfect and from the beginning Vegas has always been the place that we we wanted this story to take place."
The action comedy series ends with the elite team still high, but managing to save the day with only seconds to spare and heading back out to the club to celebrate.
The final shot shows unlikely lovers Ava Winters (Shelley Hennig) and Nick Zano (Chad McKnight) sneaking away from the party to get steamy in a hotel room shower, ending the show on a bang, just not the one viewers may have been expecting.
It seems that would be the end of Obliterated, given the team did their job, but the showrunners are hoping there will be more seasons to come and have plenty of ideas.
But if they were going to do more seasons, they would want to move away from Las Vegas to a comparable party town.
"If there ever were future adventures, there are other parts of the world that people like to party and people have, their own kinds of crazy nights that rival, Las Vegas," Hurwitz said.
"So, if this team was ever to go on another adventure, there's more ground to cover in the future."
The showrunners were very grateful to businesses and local government in Las Vegas for "opening so many doors" to allow them to film Obliterated there.
Their hope is now that other "Chambers of Commerce will fly us around the world to pitch their cities for future seasons of Obliterated," Schlossberg said.
In other words, they're hoping to be The White Lotus of action comedy, the HBO mystery series set in exotic locations around the world from Hawaii to Sicily and the upcoming season in Thailand.
"Yes, we hope every city will court us with gift baskets," Heald joked.
Obliterated is now available to watch on Netflix.
