Josh Hammer
Newsweek Opinion Editor And Host,
"The Josh Hammer Show"

I'm back stateside from CPAC Hungary over in Budapest, where I had a really great time meeting lots of interesting people and participating in a conference panel on free speech and Big Tech. However, due to the travel and my chaotic schedule over there, I took last week off from my syndicated column. I'll be back next week to share another column.

This week, my podcast focused on my trip to Hungary and lessons that U.S. conservatives should seek to take away from Hungary's living, real-life experiment in common good conservatism under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. To that end, I was delighted to have on the show my good friend Gladden Pappin, who is the incoming president of the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and the cofounder/deputy editor of American Affairs journal. Now based in Budapest, Gladden is all things "Mr. Hungary" these days, and our conversation touched on Hungary's nationalist rebuke of global liberalism, its strong emphasis on the nuclear family, its realist foreign policy stance on the conflict in neighboring Ukraine, and other interesting subjects. Give our conversation a listen on Apple, Spotify or here.

In terms of media appearances over the past week, I joined former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL)'s "White Flag" podcast to amicably debate contrasting national conservative and libertarian approaches to the issue of modern gender ideology, recorded one CenterClip audio op-ed live from CPAC Hungary in Budapest, recorded another CenterClip audio op-ed about the causes of Jordan Neely's death in New York City, recorded yet another CenterClip audio op-ed about the pressing long-term economic issues of stagnant real wages and deindustrialization, joined "Eric Bolling The Balance" on Newsmax to discuss the mainstream media's gaslighting of the recent horrific mass shooting in Texas, joined Sara Gonzales' "The News & Why It Matters" on BlazeTV to discuss the latest developments in former President Donald Trump's legal woes, and (as always) co-hosted the latest production of the Edmund Burke Foundation's "NatCon Squad" podcast.

Our highlighted right-leaning Newsweek op-eds this week include selections from Steve Cortes, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Jay Bhattacharya, Matthew Foldi, and former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY).
