Newsweek Opinion Editor And Host,
"The Josh Hammer Show"

This week, my column analyzed the sprawling, very clearly coordinated disinformation operation against the U.S. Supreme Court that has unfolded over the last month and a half. From smear jobs in liberal outlets such as ProPublic and Politico to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee's outrageous sham hearing two weeks ago on "ethics reform," what the late Andrew Breitbart famously referred to as the "Democrat-media complex" has kicked into overdrive with its menagerie of toothless hit pieces against the Court's right-leaning members and one right-leaning D.C.-area law school. My column argues that the clear goal of this disinformation operation, coming a year after the horrific and unprecedented leak in the Dobbs abortion case and on the precipice of potential blockbuster rulings on hot-button subjects such as affirmative action, is to cow the Court into submission—and to not-so-subtly threaten the justices with punitive measures, such as retributive court-packing, that would rob the Court of its independence and institutional integrity if successfully implemented.

This week, my podcast began with a robust defense against a recent senseless broadside from "BoomerCon" archetype and syndicated radio host Mark Levin, who attacked me by name on his show last Thursday for the alleged conservative sin of...supporting Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) 20 right-wing skeptics in early January, while they stalled McCarthy's fait accompli bid for the House speakership in order to extract meaningful concessions. Indeed, that strategy worked; McCarthy yielded on almost everything his detractors wanted. But Levin, like some other prominent BoomerCons, has totally lost the plot at this point. After that, Kurt Schlichter, the Los Angeles-based trial lawyer, Townhall senior columnist, and tweeter extraordinaire, joined for a very fun conversation about the 2024 GOP presidential primary, former President Donald Trump's shortcomings, Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) sensational record here in the Sunshine State, and the ever-looming (and harrowing) spectacle of degenerative wokeness infecting the U.S. military. You can listen on Apple, Spotify, or here.

In terms of media appearances over the past week, I have done a series of CenterClip audio op-eds on numerous interesting topics, joined "Tipping Point" on One America News Network to discuss the possible return of the nefarious "Disinformation Governance Board," joined Fred Pawle on ADH TV (Australia) to discuss the latest developments in U.S. politics, joined "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business to discuss the latest developments in the Left's weaponization of the federal law enforcement apparatus, joined "John Bachman Now" on Newsmax to discuss this very newsy past weekend on the (quasi)-campaign trail in Iowa, joined my friend Buck Sexton on his eponymous show to discuss all things SCOTUS, joined my friend Jesse Kelly on his show on The First TV to also chat about SCOTUS, joined the "Steak for Breakfast Podcast" to discuss my recent trip to speak at CPAC Hungary, joined "Centerpoint" on Trinity Broadcasting Network to discuss the Durham Report and the FBI's continuing malfeasance, had a very fun long-form Locals conversation with popular Brazilian commentator Paulo Figueiredo about Israel's judicial reform and the challenge of judicial supremacy, and (as always) co-hosted the latest production of the Edmund Burke Foundation's "NatCon Squad" podcast.

Our highlighted right-leaning Newsweek op-eds this week include selections from Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Caroline Glick, Kenneth L. Marcus, Brandon Judd, and Wendy Stone Long.

The Great Left-Wing Disinformation Operation Against the Supreme Court

The past five weeks has seen a flurry of media activity, clearly coordinated, against the right-of-center U.S. Supreme Court.

First, the outlet ProPublica began publishing a series of pieces "exposing" the well-known fact of Justice Clarence Thomas' long-running friendship with billionaire real estate tycoon Harlan Crow, and alleging ethical improprieties pertaining to the justice's purported failure to disclose certain information. Second, Politico alleged a conflict of interest for Justice Neil Gorsuch in an old real estate transaction in his native Colorado that involved the CEO of a major law firm. Third, Business Insider relied on a "whistleblower" to allege corruption on the part of Jane Roberts, the wife of Chief Justice John G. Roberts, due to her being a well-compensated legal recruiter. Fourth, The New York Times ran a lengthy and meandering front-page story about the at-times coziness between George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School and some of the Court's right-of-center justices.

Each and every one of these collusive "gotcha" pieces is left-wing disinformation at worst, and grossly misleading at best.
