"Heart heavy. We gotta Stop doin this. Rest in Peace Take," the Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver wrote on Twitter. His sentiments were echoed by many prominent people who called for an end to gun crime.

Beckham Jr. appears to have been a big fan of Takeoff and of his group Migos. This is evidenced by a clip of the NFL player dancing and vibing to the Migos song "Antidote" during the pre-game of a match. Beckham Jr., in the number 13 jersey, is seen doing the "Woo" dance alongside his former New York Giants team mate Sterling Shepard.

The song "Antidote" is from Migos' fourth mixtape No Label 2 released in 2014. It's unknown which game the video was filmed at, but it has appeared in multiple places online over the past five years.

The video of Beckham Jr. dancing was widely viewed on Twitter, with people complimenting Takeoff's bars and the athlete's dancing. "Top 5 Takeoff verse, my opinion," "For The Culture," and "Classic!!" were some of the positive responses.

Takeoff's death has led to an outpouring of grief across the country. Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for Georgia governor, called the loss "heartbreaking news and a tragic loss" to her state. Each member of Migos grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, and even made a cameo appearance on Donald Glover's show Atlanta.

Takeoff's death also prompted hip-hop star Desiigner to announce he's "done" with rap. He shared his initial emotional response to the news on Instagram Live.

"I can't even call [Quavo], I can't even call Offset," Desiigner said through tears, referring to Migos' other founding members. Later, he added: "I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I can't live like this no more."

Shortly after the shooting in Houston on Tuesday morning, a video of the aftermath began to spread on social media. Footage showed Takeoff lying on the ground at a bowling alley after the influential rapper was fatally shot at around 2:30 a.m.

Quavo appeared to walk away from the incident uninjured. The two had reportedly been playing dice prior to the shooting. One witness was quoted by local media as saying that Takeoff had been "[minding] his business all night."
