Saturday Night Live saw a successful three-week run following its return to primetime with Season 45. The NBC sketch comedy intends to keep the good times rolling, but fans will have to wait another week before they're offered a fresh serving of laughs.
The network will not air a new installment of SNL on Saturday but, rather, air a previously recorded episode as the show takes a mini-hiatus. SNL is expected to return to NBC with Chicago native Chance the Rapper serving double-duty as host and musical guest on October 26.

Chance's upcoming appearance will mark his second time on the SNL stage after he hosted the show nearly a year ago during Season 44. His contribution to the sketch, "Come Back, Barack," in which Chance appeared alongside SNL cast members Kennan Thompson and Chris Redd as a '90s R&B group mourning the end of President Barack Obama's two terms, was one of the highlights of the season, earning SNL a 2018 Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Another fan favorite from Chance's stint as host was his portrayal of a New York Rangers sports announcer who was completely clueless about the game of hockey.

In the meantime, fans can still catch a rerun of SNL Saturday night.
NBC will air the first show of Season 45 hosted by Woody Harrelson, which included the first of what's sure to be plenty of caricatures of the Democratic presidential contenders throughout the season. Harrelson hilariously portrayed former Vice President Joe Biden in the "DNC Town Hall" sketch, managing to mimic some of the politician's most meme-able moments. Harrelson followed up with the role of Biden during the SNL cold-open last week, notably giving Beck Bennett's Anderson Cooper a big smooch after delivering a "false memory" during yet another DNC Town Hall sketch.
Other standouts from Harrelson's fifth-ever appearance on SNL? A political commentary bit, "Inside the Beltway," in which Harrelson portrayed reporter Walter Dale alongside SNL regular players Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong and Kennan Thompson, is a must-see. The reporters offer their two cents on the current impeachment inquiry President Donald Trump is facing, and Harrelson's character seems to believe the inquiry marked a "turning point" for Trump despite the many other scandalous instances the Trump administration has endured over the last two years, which Walter similarly thought marked a "turning point" for the presidency. Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey—portrayed by SNL's Taran Killam—sharing their thoughts on the first season of True Detective during a "Weekend Update" appearance is also worth catching again (or for the first time if you missed the show three weeks ago).
Singer Billie Eilish served as the musical guest and quite literally turned the SNL set upside down during the performance of her chart-topping single, "Bad Guy," from her debut album when When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? The 17-year-old additionally performed her soulful ballad, "I Love You."
Saturday Night Live airs on NBC on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET.
