Author Stephen King has shared his stance on a beloved Yuletide tradition, leading to much backlash.

The Pet Sematary author took to X, formerly Twitter, to reveal he was not a fan of Christmas movies.

"I hate Christmas movies," he wrote on a re-post of images of publicity posters for two vintage Christmas films, White Christmas and Holiday Inn.

Many people were shocked at the revelation and let King know it.

"We know. You're miserable and you hate our country. You should just move," wrote one person.

Another added: "That's no surprise—leftists are trying to cancel Christmas. Ones like Stephen King are miserable so they want everyone to be miserable."

And a third wrote: "What a shocker. Humbug! Guy whose deranged mind can't stop creating horror stories hates feel-good movies."

Some people agreed with King but asked if there were some Christmas movies he could like.

"Even Bad Santa? Because I also hate Christmas movies but I love love love Bad Santa ?," replied one fan.

Another posted: "Same here, most are basically the same plot line but different characters… I prefer a good horror movie any day!!!"

King regularly shares his opinions on X, and most recently took to the social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump.

The author took aim at Trump's legal woes, specifically his indictment in New York for allegedly committing fraud by inflating his net worth and property values to obtain more favorable terms from lenders and insurers.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and claimed the financial statements pointed out by New York Attorney General Letitia James' office understate his net worth and the value of his properties.

New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron already ruled against Trump in a partial summary before heading to trial, where he declared Trump had inflated the value of his assets. Both sides rested their cases in early December and will reconvene on January 11 to deliver closing arguments.

"The Trump legal strategy is an oldie but a goodie: Lie, deny, and hope they die. To borrow from Danny Bongo, the WORST president in American history," King wrote.

"Danny Bongo" was a reference to conservative U.S. commentator Danny Bongino—whose name King deliberately misspelled. Bongino is often critical of President Joe Biden and regularly refers to him as "the worst president in the U.S. history."

Trump's spokesperson Steven Cheung derided King's post on X.

"Stephen King continues to write fiction," he told Newsweek. "He's a washed-up loser desperately trying to cling on to whatever fame he has left. "
