Stephen 'tWitch' Boss died by suicide, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed to Newsweek.
The 40-year-old former DJ on the Ellen show was found in the room of a short-term rental apartment block on Tuesday December 13 at 11:25 a.m.
Boss was pronounced dead at the scene at the block of apartments in Encino, California.

The coroner carried out an examination on Wednesday December 14 and ruled his cause of death was suicide.
Boss' wife, Allison Holker Boss, confirmed the passing of her husband.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us," Allison, 34, said in a statement to People on Wednesday.
"Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.
"To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt," she continued. "I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.
"Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you," she concluded.
The couple married in 2013 after first meeting when they competed on the All-Stars season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2010.
They shared children Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3, and Boss adopted Allison's daughter from a previous relationship, Weslie, 14.
Earlier this year, Boss gushed about first meeting his wife saying, "We shared a dance at the wrap party of that season of So You Think You Can Dance and we have been together ever since," he told People.
Allison added: "There was no dialogue, there was no conversation or a first hangout. Literally, we danced and we were together holding hands the very next day. And we never looked back."
The couple celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on Saturday, with Boss posting a tribute to his wife on Instagram.
Boss rose to fame on MTV's The Wade Robson Project and later came runner-up on Star Search.
He then competed on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008 where he came second and returned two years later to compete in the All-Stars series.
The dancer joined the Ellen show in 2014 and was elevated to co-executive producer in 2020.
During his time on the show, Boss would regularly perform dances with DeGeneres, Allison and their children.
For DeGeneres' 61st birthday, Boss performed a special dance for her and was also keen to participate in games DeGeneres played on the show with guests, such as, the "5 Second Rule," "Danger Word" and "Never Have I Ever."
In another segment called "Can tWitch Dance...with what's behind him?," Boss would have to replicate dance moves that played on the screen behind him.
In 2022, he joined the judging panel of So You Think You Can Dance.
