Man Tells Mom to Back Him Up in Fight as Hilarious New Trend Escalates

A popular TikTok trend testing how far kids would go to help their parents has been taken to another level in a new viral video.

Previously, the trend saw parents filming themselves urging their kids to come outside and back them up in a fight with another parent and their child. The logic being that they couldn't possibly be expected to "hit a kid" as a mom in one of the viral clips puts it.

It's a challenge that has produced a variety of equally entertaining results, with some rejecting the order to fight, while others dive head first into the action.

But now a TikTok user posting as _ninamanaj_ has taken things a step further by instead enlisting his mom for an imaginary fight involving a local man and his mother.

In a clip captioned "Asking My Italian Mom To Fight," which has already garnered over 14 million views, Instagrammer and occasional online prankster Joey Specchia can be seen approaching his mom in her kitchen and telling her "put your sneakers on."

"You know that guy down the block that's always talking s*** to me," he says. "I'm gonna go f*** him up but he's outside with his mother." He continues. "I don't want her to say something and I jump in, so if she says something you gotta do something." His mom's response is priceless. "I'm gonna f*** that b**** up," she replies, dropping a paper towel as she prepares for battle. "I'll show you."

"I've been waiting for this f****** day," Specchia's mom adds, as she goes over to put her sneakers on. A few inaudible words of Italian then follow before she reiterates: "I'll show you, that f****** b****."

Throughout the video, Specchia can be heard doing his level best to contain any laughter, having pulled off the prank to perfection. He's evidently proud of her, on some level, for having his back though, writing alongside the clip: "Das my ride or die."

Her response, meanwhile, left many on social media in stitches. B V Miner said they were "crying" at her admission she had been "waiting" for this moment. Interrupted4 was similarly amused at the fact she appeared to have "some personal beef" with the woman already.

Shana Depontes Eddy felt Specchia's mom effectively "won" this particular TikTok challenge with no response likely to better hers. Papaj323 agreed it was "the best" as she "didn't even hesitate!" AmiyahJ.official meanwhile was in awe of "the way it escalated so quickly."

Specchia told Newsweek he was inspired after seeing several videos of parents pranking their kids on TikTok as part of the challenge. "I wanted to spin it and do a version with my mom which I knew would be hilarious," he explained.

While her response may have been explosive, he wasn't necessarily surprised at her willingness to go into battle with him. "She's always backed me up no matter the case and this was no different," Specchia said.

Thankfully, when he did eventually reveal it was a prank, she was able to see the funny side. "When she found out I was joking, she smiled and cursed me out for bothering her."
