Everything in Taylor Swift's orbit is a reference to something else, even the mistakes.
During the Kansas City Chiefs' 20-14 Christmas Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, CBS color announcer Tony Romo discussed Travis Kelce's first catch of the day—a 24-yard gain that saw him lean forward and bulldoze his way through one defender and fall forward over another before he was finally downed.
When CBS's cameras panned to Swift, who was cheering Kelce on high above the field, Romo's broadcast partner Jim Nantz noted that it was Kelce's 900th career reception.

"And his wife loves it," Romo said, before quickly adding, "I mean, his girlfriend."
"You've been down that road with that before," Nantz said.
To Nantz's point: Monday was the second time Romo has had that slip of the tongue (if that's what it was). In Week 14, Romo and Nantz were covering the Chiefs' game against the Buffalo Bills when cameras found Swift.
"You can see Kelce's wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience," Romo said, before correcting himself. "I'm sorry, girlfriend."

Newsweek reached out to CBS by email requesting comment on whether Romo meant to make that mistake again, or whether it was—like so many other things Swift-related—a reference to something else.
Swift and Kelce may not have been in a laughing mood after the game. For her part, the musician was spotted in her luxury box giving Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany Mahomes a hug as seconds ticked away.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines as the Chiefs dropped yet another frustrating loss, Kelce could be seen spiking his helmet on the sideline.

When a Chiefs employee went to retrieve Kelce's helmet, head coach Andy Reid could be seen stopping them from getting his attention. Reid and Kelce then appeared to have a brief conversation.
"He went back in and did a nice job," Reid said about Kelce in the aftermath, according to the Kansas City Star. "Things happen. Emotional game. Travis is emotional, and sometimes my red hair gets to me a little bit. But it all works out."
Kelce finished with five catches for 44 yards. He and Swift were spotted leaving together.

The Chiefs are now 9-6 overall and can no longer claim the No. 1 seed in the AFC. They remain first in the AFC West and thus are third overall in the AFC seeding.
Their record with Swift in attendance, meanwhile, fell to 5-3.
