Travis Kelce Followed Taylor Swift's Footsteps and Recorded a 'Fun Song'

It's fair to say that Travis Kelce is a rather talented individual. The tight end is an all-time great at his position, and that's largely thanks to his incredible athleticism. He's stepped into the comedy spotlight without breaking a sweat, had his own reality show and co-hosts a podcast with his brother, Jason.

But now, there's another skill on the cards. And in a fitting turn of events, the Kansas City Chiefs star is apparently following Taylor Swift's footsteps into the recording booth.

Sound unbelievable? Well, it seems like very few options are off the table for one of the NFL's most colorful characters.

Let's break it down.

Kelce Appearing on Eagles' Christmas Album

Thanks to their high profile, professional athletes are no strangers to leveraging their celebrity for a good cause. That's what a group of Philadelphia Eagles linemen, including Jason Kelce, is doing.

As confirmed on the October 25 episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata have recorded a Christmas album, with the proceeds going to charity. There will also be at least one special guest appearance: Travis Kelce.

"I am [on the album]," he said. "Yeah, we had a fun song....That song was actually pretty sweet, man. I enjoyed doing it. The guys, the team came out and hung out with me in Kansas City for a few hours, and we knocked it out. Yeah, I think that they made me sound extremely better."

With that said, though, the tight end still felt the need to provide a disclaimer about his vocal performance.

"Not saying it was good by any means," he added. "I'm just saying they made it sound extremely better than what I felt like I left that studio thinking."

Kelce's Singing Has Been in Spotlight Before

While Kelce's usual work doesn't feature his voice—although a recent mic'd-up video showed that he's more than willing to talk on the gridiron—this isn't his first foray into singing.

Ahead of his gig hosting Saturday Night Live, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Kelce admitted that he was nervous about the spot, but Fallon stepped in to provide a bit of support.

"I was talking to Lorne [Michaels] today and I was like, 'Oh, he's so charming and he can sing and he's fun and it's so good,'" Fallon said.

The pair also performed a duet of The Beastie Boys' "Fight for Your Right," perhaps in an attempt to prove that the tight end could, in fact, sing.

Now, we'll get another glimpse of Travis Kelce's vocal chops. And, who knows, maybe he's been getting some behind-the-scenes tips from a certain Grammy winner.
