Travis Kelce Has Strong Feelings About Buffalo Bills Fans

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs face a few unique challenges on Sunday when they take on the Buffalo Bills, including Patrick Mahomes' first road playoff game that isn't the Super Bowl, but one of the biggest ones might be the Bills' enthusiastic fanbase "Bills Mafia."

Kelce has a lot of respect for the dedicated bunch. On Wednesday's episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, the duo talked about how fans were willing to show up to the Bills' Highmark Stadium last week and shovel out places to sit after the region was hit with a snowstorm.

"Shoutout to the Bills Mafia, man," Travis said. "Proving yet again they're one of the coolest f***ing fan bases."

The Chiefs tight end maintained the same tone speaking about Bills fans on a bonus preview episode of New Heights that dropped Friday afternoon.

"Right now it's a different energy in our building at least. I'm not sure what they've got," Travis said. "Looks like they've got some pretty damn good energy, and the Bills Mafia at home is always going to give you that much more momentum, especially if they're shoveling snow two days before for an extra $20 an hour."

The Chiefs earned a home win over the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round, and Travis praised Chiefs fans for the fun environment they created. Still, he added that he "loves" the feeling of playing in front of a hostile crowd.

"I know it's going to be a huge challenge, baby," he said. "Bills Mafia is going to have that place rocking up there in Buffalo. I can't wait for this challenge, man."

Jason, whose Philadelphia Eagles were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round in a game that might have been his last, said he might be in attendance on Sunday.

"I'm not doing anything," he said gloomily. "Maybe I can jump through a table."

The Chiefs and Bills faced off recently in a Week 14 showdown at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs seemed to be on the verge of winning under dramatic circumstances when a heads-up lateral by Travis to wide receiver Kadarius Toney appeared to give the Chiefs a touchdown and a late lead in the fourth quarter. Toney, however, lined up offside before the play began, and it was called back. The Bills went on to win 20-17.

In Friday's bonus episode, Jason noted that some would call the play controversial, while others "would say it was a very legitimate offsides."

"That's bulls***," Travis said.

"I mean, he was offsides," Jason said.

"No he wasn't," Travis said in a tone that suggested he knew he was wrong and wasn't happy about it.

"I mean, he was visually..." Jason started.

"I don't want to talk about it," Travis responded.

The Chiefs will get their shot at redemption when the game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
