Cher has paid homage to Betty White with a rendition of The Golden Girls' theme song for an NBC special celebrating the late, beloved actress and comedian.
The NBC special Celebrating Betty White: America's Golden Girl aired on Monday night in tribute to White, who died on New Year's Eve, just shy of her 100th birthday.
For the show, Cher lent her voice to the theme—titled "Thank You For Being A Friend"—of White's much-loved sitcom, performing it in the same space the sitcom was filmed.
The 75-year-old singer shared preview clips on the weekend, ahead of the program.
"Every Friend is Golden," a message read alongside the clip, which has been viewed more than 2 million times on Instagram since Sunday, and more than 500,000 times on Twitter since Friday.
The song was written by Andrew Gold in 1978, and later sung by Cynthia Fee for the series which aired from 1985 to 1992.

Speaking about her late friend during the special, Cher said of White: "She meant so much to me and to everyone she ever met or whoever watched her on TV. She was a true American icon. White died on December 31, six days after suffering a stroke.
