A bride has gone viral online after sharing the hilarious way her vow not to drink on her wedding day turned out.

Bride Emily Selberis gained over 160,000 views on TikTok after sharing the hilarious comparison in August. Selberis joked she's left "haunted" by how much she ended up drinking, despite aiming to only have one or two glasses.

According to her video, Selberis initially planned to have a "sophisticated wedding," noting "I'm only going to have one or two drinks. Absolutely no shots."

The first moments of the day showed her predicted sophistication, with the bride gracefully walking the aisle in her huge gown. That, however, was followed by footage of the bride downing shots with her guests. "I just know where this is going," she joked using on-screen text.

"Eight months later and I'm still haunted by the amount of alcohol I consumed that day," Selberis captioned the video. Although she didn't give specifics on how much, it can be assumed to be a lot since the final clip shows her in a nighttime party dress, performing a dance for the crowd while barefoot against the wall.

Selberis might be "haunted" by her drinking on her wedding day but she's certainly not the only bride to do so. According to a 2016 study by wedding site The Knot, 18 percent of brides and grooms said that their partner got drunk at the wedding, and 15 percent said they themselves got drunk on the big day.

It seems that guests are also fans of alcohol-infused wedding days, with 53 percent of Americans reporting to an Alcohol.org study that they prefer alcohol-stocked weddings over dry ones.

TikTok users were equally impressed by Selberis' drunken appearance on her wedding day, with many brides even sharing their own similar experiences.

"Me too and I watched so many videos like this before and swore I wouldn't but oh well," wrote one TikTok user.

"This was me on my wedding day too. I can't remember a thing. Slightly regret it now," added another.

Newsweek has contacted Selberis for comment.

From one wedding day faux pas to another: Last month, a bride went viral after showing the hilarious way her mom accidentally ruined her dress reveal in front of her bridesmaids.

After the bride opened the door to show her gown, her mom rapidly stepped in front of her, attempting to get out of the way but inadvertently doing the opposite.
