Who Was Unmasked on The Masked Singer Last Night?
Week 2 of The Masked Singer saw two celebrities reveal their identities as they competed for a spot in the finals.
Cyclops, Firefly, and Thingamabob went head to head to secure a place in the finals but sadly, only one could secure the coveted slot. The person to come up on top was Firefly, meaning Cyclops and Thingamabob were sent home from the competition.
Battling for a place, Cyclops, Firefly, and Thingamabob performed "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown during the final showdown, and also gave a few numerical clues bout their identities. Firefly's was 54, Cyclops was 108 and Thingambob was 7. The audience then cast their vote on who they wanted to sail through to the final.
Cyclops
First to be eliminated from The Masked Singer was Cyclops, who had performed Irene Cara's '80s classic "Flashdance (What a Feeling)." The judges had guessed Cyclops to be a whole range of talent, including actors Kevin Smith to Michael Keaton. In the end, Cyclops was actor Jorge Garcia.
Garcia is best known for his role as Hurley in Lost and Jerry in Hawaii Five-O.
Speaking after his unmasking, Garcia said: "I love this show and it's really been an honor to come play."
Thingamabob
With Cyclops' exit, the battle for the final spot was was between Thingamabob, representing Team Cuddly, and Firefly, representing Team Good.
Host Nick Cannon declared Firefly as the winner, meaning Thingamabob would be the one leaving the competition.
However, before he could go, Thingamabob who had performed Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" had to reveal his true identity.
The judges threw around names such as ex-NFL star Michael Strahan and Arizona Cardinals defensive end JJ Watt and they were not too far off. Thingamabob was fellow professional footballer, Philadelphia Eagles player Jordan Mailata.
Mailata told the audience after his elimination: "I was a singer first before any sort of athlete. This has been an incredible experience for me. I want to say if you want to do something, just do it."
Taking to Twitter after the show had aired, Mailata shared a video of him behind the scenes in his iconic Thingamabob costume.
He captioned the short video "NOW YOU KNOW! It was me behind the #ThingamabobMask! What a journey!"
