An 8-month-old golden retriever has captured hearts for his insatiable enthusiasm for a special treat from a local café near his home in Montreal, Canada.
Caught on camera eagerly demanding his usual order, despite the café being closed, Charlie stood outside the establishment with his owner, Lauren Liberman.
She explained: "Charlie, they're not open yet. They're closed," but the dog was undeterred and refused to move.
As lights inside the café began to turn on, Charlie couldn't contain his excitement, even emitting a few well-placed barks of impatience, eager for his usual pup cup treat.

"He often gets pup cups and they also make homemade dog peanut butter cookies that he loves," Liberman told Newsweek. "I live around the corner so we always walk by when we go on walks and it's impossible not to stop there when we do walk by. He won't move until we go in."
Often a small cup of whipped cream or soft-serve ice cream, a pup cup is a treat designed for dogs and often sold by food chains and cafés.
Charlie isn't alone in being a lover of the canine treat, either. Earlier this month 11-year-old Mr. Wiggles captured hearts with his specific preferences for the treat. It isn't just dogs either as Seven the cat melted hearts with his very enthusiastic reaction to getting his own cup.
Reflecting on her reaction to Charlie's adorable display, Liberman wasn't shocked: "I wasn't surprised—he often does that. For an 8-month-old, he is very smart and reactive. I loved it though, so cute."
After capturing the moment on camera, Liberman shared footage of impatient Charlie waiting for his cup on TikTok where it has been viewed 1.4 million times.
Liberman's TikTok @laurenandcody showcases the delightful antics of Charlie and his late predecessor, Cody.
"I had a golden retriever named Cody who actually started my TikTok account," she explained. "He was 13 when he passed away sadly but he made so many people happy on TikTok. When he passed away, I had such a hard time, didn't leave my apartment for a month. Then I knew that I had to give another dog a great home. So I got Charlie and have never been happier—he is Cody's twin!"
In hundreds of comments on the video, people were delighted by Charlie's antics.
"Only customer I would open the door for before opening hours," said one viewer. While another commenter wrote: "Dude. If he'd been my first customer when I was working early morning shifts as a barista, my day would have been MADE."
