Earlier this month, a mother allegedly stabbed her daughter to death at Spring Creek Park in Tomball.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, preliminary information suggested the child, possibly five or six, was allegedly stabbed by her mother and that the victim was taken to a nearby hospital soon afterward.
Sergeant Ben Beall said at a media briefing: "She (the mother) notified hospital personnel that she had killed her daughter and that her daughter was in her gray Jeep Cherokee.
"The nurses came out, checked on her, and had a doctor come out. They pronounced the child dead at 12:10 p.m.
"Tomball Police Department originally responded to the scene. The mother said the incident occurred at Spring Creek Park, off Brown Road. Deputies went out there to see if they could find the homicide scene out there, they weren't able to locate anything."
In another case this very month, a man is alleged to have stabbed his brother to death with a sword. Kansas City police were alerted to reports that someone had been cut with a sharp device, and raced to the 6200 block of Tracy St on Thursday.
When they arrived, officers found the victim, Karl Winn, on the front porch and determined a sword had been put through his chest.
His brother Aaron has since been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
