Meghan McCain used Senate candidate Kari Lake's own words against her in her latest jab at the Arizona Republican on Wednesday.

McCain, daughter of late Senator John McCain, has been critical of Lake, a Trump-aligned conservative who rose to national prominence during her bid in Arizona's 2022 gubernatorial race, which saw her lose to Democrat Katie Hobbs. Their years-long feud began after Lake attacked "McCain Republicans" during a 2022 campaign event, drawing Meghan McCain's ire.

On Wednesday, McCain responded to a Fox News article focusing on Democratic efforts to draw attention to their feud amid Lake's Senate campaign in the battleground state, which is viewed as among the most competitive races that could decide control of the Senate.

"Democrats have nothing to do with this feud. Kari Lake has done all of this to herself and is now living with the ramifications from it. She told McCain republicans to get the hell out and we all have," McCain wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

She referred to Lake saying during a November 2022 rally, "We don't have any McCain Republicans in here, do we? Get the hell out!"

Newsweek reached out to Lake's office for comment via email.

Polls suggest Lake remains favored to win the Republican primary in August. Meanwhile, Democrats are poised to nominate Representative Ruben Gallego. Independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema, a former Democrat, is yet to say whether she is running for reelection.

Their feud resurfaced in the past week after Lake said the candidate said her comments about McCain Republicans were made "in jest" during an interview with Arizona radio station KTAR earlier in February.

McCain responded on X, writing, "Kari Lake is trying to walk back her continued attacks on my Dad (& family) and all of his loyal supporters after telling them to 'get the hell out'. Guess she realized she can't become a Senator without us. No peace, b****. We see you for who you are - and are repulsed by it."

Lake then attempted to smooth things over with McCain, replying to her post: "Hi Meghan, As mothers, (both with two kiddos) [I] know we both agree that our children's future is too important to let it slip away over past grudges or hurt feelings. That's why I'm working hard to unite Republicans, Independents, Democrats — ALL Americans."

McCain responded, "NO PEACE, B****!"

Lake's Senate campaign has received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, who remains favored to win the GOP presidential nomination.

McCain has also been critical of Trump, who previously mocked her father, saying McCain is a "war hero because he was captured" and that he likes "people who weren't captured" at the Iowa Family Leadership Summit in July 2015.
