Power Book II: Ghost has now started airing on Starz, and the first episode featured plenty of links to the show it span off from, Power. The series follows on from the events of that show, with Tasha St. Patrick (played by Naturi Naughton) on trial for the murder of husband James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick)—a murder that we know her son Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) committed.
Tasha and Tariq, however, were not the only Power characters to return for Book 2. Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) is now the District Attorney, while Tameika Robinson (Quincy Tyler Bernstine) is Tasha's lawyer at the start of the episode.
However, the character that has got everyone talking did not appear in the episode. Near the close of Episode 1, titled "The Stranger," Tasha lied in court and said that it was actually Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) who killed his former best friend. This suggests that we may see Tommy return for Power Book II to answer to this accusation.
In the final episodes of Power, Tommy was on his way out west, trying to start his life over again following the death of his partner LaKeisha (La La Anthony).

He is also due to appear in his own Power spin-off Force. Initially set to be the fourth spin-off, it has now been moved up to become Power Book IV and is set to air after the upcoming prequel Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
However, Tasha's defense seems to suggest that Tommy may be back to screens before the release of Force, particularly as Tasha's trial just became much bigger after she was sent up on RICO charges.
Power universe showrunner Courtney Kemp has also made a big hint that Tommy will be returning in a later episode of Power Book II: Ghost. The showrunner told TVLine: "By the end of the season, you are going to see a very familiar face."
She later added: "Remember how I said a familiar face would show up at some point?" she said airily. "I don't know: If somebody said in court that I did something that I didn't do, I might feel compelled to show up, maybe, and talk to them about it?"
Speaking of the moment when Tasha called out Tommy in court, Kemp said to Deadline, "what happens here, there's an answer for later in the season."
Asked why Tasha called out Tommy at that moment, Kemp reminded fans that the last time Tasha saw Tommy, he nearly murdered her after blaming her for the murder of LaKeisha (a murder which, to be fair, she did commit).
Kemp said of this: "Tasha's last memories of Tommy are not great...Tommy came into Tasha's house, and put her on her knees, and put a gun in her face. He came there to kill her because she killed LaKeisha. So, it's not like she owes him anything at this point."
Power Book II: Ghost airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Starz; Power Book IV: Force is coming in 2021 to Starz.
