Stephen King Slams Troll Who Calls Biden the 'Worst President'

Horror author Stephen King has become known for posting his political opinions online—and now he's criticized a troll for calling Joe Biden the "worst president."

King joined the Democratic party in 1970 and often takes to social media to criticize Donald Trump and other members of the Republican Party. This time, he has used his platform to stick up for Biden after American conservative political commentator Dan Bongino shared his thoughts on the current president.

"Today is November 16th, and Joe Biden is the WORST president in U.S. history," Bongino shared to X, formerly Twitter. King reshared the post and added: "Get over yourself, Danny." Newsweek reached out to a King representative for comment via email Tuesday and contacted Bongino through social media.

When the critically acclaimed author speaks about politics on the platform, he regularly has people share their thoughts in the replies—and not everyone always agrees with him. "Breaking: Stephen King continues to publish fiction on Twitter," one person wrote on X.

"He's not lying though, Joe Biden is the worst president I've seen in my lifetime," posted another, while a third person added: "If you want to truly write a book about evil. Write Joe Biden's memoirs."

However, not everyone disagreed with King, as others shared their support in the comments.

"I mean, Joe Biden is better than Trump, but he hasn't been focusing on anything super important," one person commented.

"That guy [Bongino] is the biggest tool. I was gonna say he's the worst, but there's way too much competition on the right for that title now," posted another. Another simply wrote: "Agreed!"

This isn't the only time that King has posted to X about Biden. On January 2, a user posted to the social-media platform: "FACT: Joe Biden has spent 40% of his presidency on vacation." King reshared the post to his own account and added: "The other 60% he kicked a**."

Then, on February 20, the 76-year-old author praised Biden after the 46th President of the United States made a surprise visit to Ukraine. "Say whatever you want about Joe Biden—the man's got a yard of guts," he posted to social media.

More recently, a post that King wrote on November 17 about the 2024 election went viral: "If it is indeed Biden vs. Trump in 2024, it will be America's sanity test." By November 20, the post had been seen 2.5 million times and received 14,000 comments.

The post came as no surprise to those who closely follow King's X account, as he has long been critical of Trump. The author has taken to the social-media platform on several occasions over the years to share his unfiltered opinion.

King previously said the businessman "can't win" the presidential election, instead believing the former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley could be triumphant. This is despite the fact that she is still trailing Trump's substantial lead in the primary polls. However, given how well her campaign is doing, there is already speculation about whether Trump would pick her to be his running mate in 2024.
