The White Lotus may have told viewers as far back as the fourth episode in Season 1 who would die in the sophomore series.
The Season 2 finale of the hit HBO series dropped on Sunday and revealed billionaire Tanya McQuoid-Hunt (Jennifer Coolidge) was about to be swindled by her Italian companions and husband, Greg Hunt (Jon Gries).
Tanya figures out Greg was working with Quentin (Tom Holland) to kill her—or some fans have speculated to blackmail her over her infidelity—to get their hands on her fortune.

Tanya and her assistant Portia (Haley Lu Richardson) figure out the conspiracy together after Quentin's alleged nephew, Jack (Leo Woodall), spills the beans when drunk.
He let slip that Quentin and his Sicilian friends like to charm "rich, old hags," hinting it was more about swindling them than friendship.
It became more evident Greg was involved when Tanya found an old photo of him with Quentin in his palazzo. Quentin had previously told Tanya he had fallen in love with a rancher in Wyoming and "would do anything for him."
Greg's disposition towards Tanya had changed dramatically since the first season, from enamored paramour, to a critical and short-tempered husband.
While the signs that Greg was up to no good unfolded throughout the season—such as wanting Portia to go back to the U.S. and taking secret phone calls—some fans have realized the show's creators dropped a big hint last year.
Posting to TikTok, one fan speculated the show teased viewers of Tanya's death in Season 1 in a video that has since gone viral with over 740,000 views. It can be seen here.
In the video, the scene when Greg and Tanya first meet shows him trying to get into her room, not realizing he had gone to the wrong room number.
However, the fan suggests Greg and Quentin had planned all along to target Tanya and that him accidentally turning up to her room was all a ruse.
Fans also pointed out Greg was likely faking his terminal illness in the first season and would put on his coughing fits when Tanya would try to find out more about his life. However, he seemed fine swimming laps in the pool at other times.
Even show creator, Mike White, confirmed he had dropped hints that Tanya's life would end because of something Greg did to her. The season finale saw Tanya fall off a yacht and hit her head after shooting Quentin and the other conspirators before trying to escape to safety.
"In the end of last season Tanya is sitting with Greg in the last episode and he's talking about his health issues and she says 'I've had every kind of treatment over the years. Death is the last immersive experience I haven't tried," White said in a special after the finale aired.
When Tanya says this in Season 1, Greg is seen smiling widely as a foreshadowing of his plans to kill her and steal her fortune.
White said: "I was thinking it'd be so fun to bring Tanya back because she's such a great character but maybe that's the journey for her is like a journey to death.
"And not that I really wanted to kill Tanya because I love her as a character and obviously love Jennifer. But I just felt like you know we're going to Italy, she's such a kind of diva, larger than life female archetype.
"It just felt like we could devise our own operatic conclusion to Tanya's life and her story."
The White Lotus airs on HBO.
