The White Lotus' Jennifer Coolidge has an uncanny resemblance to her onscreen protégée, Portia, played by Haley Lu Richardson.

One fan shared a throwback photo on Twitter of the Emmy-winning actress alongside a shot of Portia from the hit HBO series, which has just wrapped its second season.

"Holy s*** when jennifer coolidge says "you remind me of a young me" she was not f****** around at ALL #TheWhiteLotus," tweeted @dynamofire.

In the second season of The White Lotus, Coolidge's character, the billionaire Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, drags her assistant Portia on what has meant to be a romantic vacation with her husband, Greg, to Sicily.

The very aimless Portia spends much of her time complaining about working for Tanya and seems to have contempt for her boss's behavior.

So Portia is very shocked later in the series when a more retrospective Tanya gives her some unexpected but sage advice, especially at the revelation that her boss sees herself in her.

"You know, when you're empty inside and you have no direction, you'll end up in some crazy places, right? But you'll still be lost," Tanya tells Portia.

An incredulous Portia replies: "What are you trying to say? Like..." To which Tanya pithily tells her, "Get your s*** together, Portia."

Thankfully, the actors have a better real-life relationship, with Richardson opening up on what it was like to work with such a well-respected actor as Coolidge.

"They do all these different shots when you're filming something," Richardson said during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. "And there's so many times where it's over my shoulder on Jennifer, and my character's so reactionary to her."

Richardson added: "And she's going off on all these tangents. She's doing all this stuff. She's so chaotic—in this genius way—and I'm just trying everything I can to not, like, laugh or not ruin the shot by, like, moving my shoulders. And it's really hard when you're trying not to laugh. You're trying to be serious. You're trying to stay in character. You're like squeezing so you're still, so you're not ruining the amazing thing she's doing."

Coolidge's performance during The White Lotus' first season landed her an Emmy for best supporting actress earlier in 2022. She made headlines with her hilarious reaction to being played off with music during her acceptance speech.

The Legally Blonde star, 61, was clearly shocked at her big win, and when she made it to the stage, admitted she was "having a hard time speaking."

Coolidge spoke for a little while and, when she tried to thank the show's producers, the orchestra started playing music to cue her to wrap up.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I'm full, I'm full! OK..." Coolidge went on as the DJ began playing Ray Charles' song "Hit the Road Jack."

"Wait, hold on. Wait, hold on..." Coolidge said, before deciding to boogie hilariously to the music.

The White Lotus airs on HBO.
