A pet owner found a special way to spread a little Christmas cheer to her canine pets.
It seems like, every year, the rush to get in the festive spirit begins a little earlier. But while there will be those who scoff at the idea of setting up Christmas lights and decorations long before December 1, there could be some benefit to embracing the season to be jolly.
A study previously published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology found that decorating the outside of your house with lights and other decorations sends a message that the residents inside are friendly, cohesive and accessible. These are all qualities that could land you an invite to any Christmas parties or festive celebrations in the neighborhood.
Getting people up for the Christmas festivities is one thing, but it is a whole lot harder to get your often-oblivious pets in the mood for what December 25 brings. That is despite the fact that, for a large proportion of America's pet population, Christmas is definitely a time to celebrate.
Last year, a survey of 2,000 pet owners, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of MetLife Pet Insurance, found that they were planning to spend an average of $50 on a holiday gift for their pet.
Plenty were open to the idea of going over this amount (41 per cent), with new pet toys (74 per cent), treats (73 per cent) and clothes (29 per cent) among the most-popular options.
While the easiest way to a dog's heart over the festive break may be through his stomach, there are plenty of ways of getting your canine pets into the Christmas spirit without impacting their waistlines.
A few could do worse than take inspiration from Tori Bennett. In a video posted to her TikTok account, the pet owner urged fellow animal lovers to "take your dog to see Christmas lights to make a core memory."
Bennett is not the first dog owner to try this out, but there is something undeniably special about her trip around the lights.
In the clip, Bennett can be seen slowly driving around her local neighborhood with her three dogs. The group take in all of the Christmas lights that already adorn the various houses and stores located close to her home.

Throughout the 21-second clip, Bennett's dogs appear mesmerized by it all, silently taking in every twinkling building as they slowly move by.
It's a magical experience for these canines, who may never have seen the likes of this before. As one person commenting on the video says, "they are truly focused on the lights."
It is a reminder that, while a little turkey with all of the dog-friendly trimmings will likely keep our canine friends happy this year, sometimes it's the small things, the simple things, that make the biggest impact.
Newsweek has contacted Bennett via TikTok for comment.
