Lauren Boebert's Ex-Husband Arrested

Rep. Lauren Boebert's ex-husband was reportedly arrested on weapons and assault charges on Tuesday.

Jayson Boebert was arrested on six charges, including prohibited use of weapons, third-degree assault, and obstructing a peace officer, The Daily Beast reported, citing Garfield County jail records.

The charges come after he was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with the Republican congresswoman at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado, on Saturday.

It was not immediately clear if the arrest and charges were connected to that incident, but police previously confirmed they were investigating it.

Jail records confirm Jayson Boebert was released later on Tuesday, CBS News reported. His bond was set at $2,500.

Police were reportedly called to the Miner's Claim restaurant in Silt on Saturday by Jayson Boebert, who said he was a "victim of domestic violence."

He told The Denver Post that he called the Silt Police Department the following morning and told police he does not want to press charges.

The congresswoman's campaign released a statement on Sunday in which she said she "didn't punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested."

"I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options," she said.

The allegation that she had struck her ex-husband was first circulated on social media by American Muckrackers, a political action committee working to oust the congresswoman.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the group said Boebert "punched" her ex-husband in the nose twice and "then continued to beat him up."

Boebert announced in December that she will be changing congressional districts, leaving the more competitive 3rd District seat she barely won in 2022 to run for a seat in the more conservative 4th District.

She acknowledged the move was a "fresh start" following "a pretty difficult year for me and my family."

The congresswoman filed for divorce from Jayson Boebert in May 2023, and it was finalized in October.

In September, she and a date were kicked out of a performance of Beetlejuice after guests complained they were vaping, singing, using phones and causing a disturbance. Boebert initially denied wrongdoing, but later apologized after security footage seemingly showed her vaping and she and her date fondling each other.
