Speaking to Hollywood Life, she said of her character: "She's grappling with different choices and definitely navigating through being the daughter and also trying to find a way to stand on her own. There's a lot of discovery that's going to happen with her personality-wise, I feel like she starts to learn a lot about herself just from her surroundings, whether it be new or current."
Monet - Mary J. Blige
Who is Monet: A crime boss who will do whatever it takes to keep her family safe—including murder. As Tariq tries to pay for Tasha's new lawyer, he is going to get into a business that steps on Monet's toes, causing trouble for the entire cast of Power Book II: Ghost.
Tasha actor Naturi Naughton also hinted that Monet and Tasha will cause trouble for each other. She told Digital Spy: "We may not see each other at first, because our worlds are different. However, our paths may cross. And when they do. We will not be buddy buddy, not at first."

He's drawn into the St. Patricks' crazy world of mayhem and drugs, but the only thing he's addicted to at the end of the day is winning."
