Celebs Light Up Paris, Cardi B is Pregnant (And Divorcing), Plus More Buzz
While Paris is certainly flooded with first class athletes competing in the Olympics, there are just as many first-class celebrities competing for attention at the Olympics. Let's get into it.
As Simone Biles and the rest of Team USA won all-around team gold medal, Tom Cruise was cheering them on. (It's also rumored Cruise might be part of the closing ceremonies.) Also watching Simone Biles become the most decorated gymnast in history included Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas, Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban, and Barbie director Greta Gerwig. The power of Simone Biles, right?
Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain has been spotted in the crowd. Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, and Elizabeth Banks took in some volleyball. Mick Jagger watched some fencing. And Flavor Flav went wild for the U.S. women's water polo team.
But the celeb most seen at the Olympics thus far is Snoop Dogg. Officially there as an official NBC Olympics correspondent, it seems like every celebrity wants a picture with the rapper. And who wouldn't? He's Snoop Dogg!
Let's break down what else is going on in the world of pop culture...
Page Six reported that rapper Cardi B has filed for divorce from her husband Offset, and this time she means it. They've been on again, off again for a while, but apparently this time is different. The couple have two kids together and she confirmed that she's pregnant with a third. While this divorce isn't a surprise, it does make one think about what's going on with that other celebrity couple people have been talking about. (You know, that Bennifer one.)
Let's talk about Bennifer, shall we? If Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck do announce a separation, JLo's fortune could be at risk, a legal expert told Newsweek. They've already put their $60 million Beverly Hills property on the market, and JLo recently sold her $23 million dollar New York penthouse. That's a lot of property to unload, and it does make people wonder, why?
Disney is cutting more jobs. Despite recent successes at the box office with Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine, the company still continues to struggle in other areas like television and theme park attendance. Bloomberg UK reported that the company plans to lay off two percent of their Disney Entertainment Television division.

Finally, if you're in Los Angeles, get to the Academy Museum. It's the last weekend you can see their John Waters: Pope of Trash exhibit, and to honor it they're having a Q&A with Ricki Lake on Saturday night, who shot to stardom in Waters' Hairspray. Oh, and guess who else will be there? Me! Come say hi.
