Star Power, Stand-Up, and Scandals: A Wild Weekend on the Campaign Trail

Can you tell election day is just 8 days away? Because both campaigns are using all the star power they can muster to appeal to voters.

On Friday, Harris appeared with Beyoncé in Houston. And then on Sunday, former President Donald Trump appeared at Madison Square Garden in New York City with speakers like Hulk Hogan, Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk. Both events had star power, but only one ended in controversy.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, one of the many speakers during the six-hour Trump rally, said, "There's a lot going on. I don't know if you know this, but there's literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it's called Puerto Rico." Since those comments, Hinchcliffe has gained thousands of followers and has defended his comments, while many Republicans have distanced themselves from it. Daniella Alvarez, Trump campaign senior advisor, issued a statement following Hinchcliffe's remarks, stating that the "joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign." Many celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Bad Bunny, have shared the clip of Hinchcliffe's remarks.

Oh, and Trump went on Joe Rogan's podcast over the weekend, which resulted in millions of downloads. Will Harris appear on Rogan's podcast? We'll have to wait and see.

That's it for me today. Keep scrolling for more. I'll see you Wednesday.
