'Wicked' Makes History at Box Office

This weekend, Wicked cast a spell on the box office by claiming the top spot, taking in an estimated $114 million in domestic ticket sales. This makes it the biggest opening for a Broadway adaptation ever.

Gladiator II had a respectable opening with $55.5 million in domestic ticket sales, but it proved to be no competition for Wicked. The combo openings, referred to as Glicked by social media, were being compared to last year's combo opening of Barbie and Oppenheimer, which brought in $155 million and $82.4 million respectively.

Did you see them? I did and they were great. (And fortunately, nobody sang during my screening of Wicked.)

Here's what else is poppin' in the world of pop culture...

That's it for me today!! I'll be back on Wednesday with more. In the meantime, keep scrolling.

Disney Has a Trump Problem

By Ryan Smith

The Walt Disney Company, it seems to many conservatives, goes out of its way to provoke Donald Trump and his MAGA followers.

Its ABC TV network is home to The View, arguably the most anti-Trump show on the small screen. ABC News—which Trump has repeatedly labeled a "fake news" outlet— came under fire from Republicans for being unfair and hostile to the now president-elect in the TV debate it hosted between him and his then-presidential campaign rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
