Kendrick Disses Drake at Halftime, Taylor Swift Gets Booed

The big question going into Sunday's Super Bowl was whether Kendrick Lamar would perform his Grammy-winning song "Not Like Us," a not-so-subtle diss at the rapper Drake. The two are involved in a very public dispute and legal battle over the song. Because of that, nobody knew if Lamar would dare perform it. Well, he dared, and it sent social media into overdrive.

Fans went so wild for Lamar's performance that they began to scrutinize his outfit for additional clues (and digs) against Drake. Oh, but it didn't end there, because even tennis champ Serena Williams' surprise appearance during his performance was seen as another dig against Drake. (While unconfirmed, many have speculated of a past romance between Drake and Williams. And in "Not Like Us," the line "better not speak on Serena" is largely believed to be about Williams.) The layers in this beef and performance are like catnip for a pop culture obsessed fan like me. I need more!

Beyond Lamar's performance, the two things everyone was talking about last night were the commercials (which were meh in my opinion) and Taylor Swift getting booed. Now, while President Donald Trump, in attendance, speculated on Truth Social that it was because "MAGA is very unforgiving," a reference to Swift's past endorsement of former Vice President Kamala Harris. But today many are speculating it has more to it than politics. Swift, a Pennsylvania native, previously was a vocal fan of Super Bowl champs Philadelphia Eagles but has since moved into the Kansas City Chiefs camp because of her relationship with Chiefs' tight end, Travis Kelce. So, the boos are likely more about her abandoning the Eagles and less about Trump. (Sorry Mr. President.)

That's it for me today. I'll be back Wednesday with a very exciting chat! Keep scrolling for more entertainment news.

Eliminated Drag Race Queen Shares Unfair Treatment from Fellow Contestants

By H. Alan Scott

Southern drag queen Hormona Lisa was cast away in Friday's nautical-themed episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. She spoke to Newsweek's Parting Shot Podcast with H. Alan Scott about her departure from the show, her cartoon look-alike and the disrespectful treatment she experienced from her fellow contestants.

"I feel proud of doing it," Hormona told Newsweek about the show and the most recent challenge. "I wish I would have gone home on a dancing thing or something because sewing is what I do, but I normally don't work with garbage. So, I think that's a little redeeming."
