'It Ends With Us' Turns Into Real-Life Drama For Lively and Baldoni

Have you been following this real-life drama between It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni? Because if there ever were a moment to use the head explosion emoji, now would be the moment. Let's get into it.

It all started last week while the cast were doing promotion for the movie, which is based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling book of the same name. People began to notice that nobody was doing press with Baldoni, who also directed the film. Digging deeper, it became clear that Baldoni was following the rest of the cast on Instagram, but they weren't following him. (Awkward.)

That's when more rumors started leaking from "sources" that there were creative differences between Baldoni and Lively, who also executive produced the film. One even went so far to suggest that Lively had another editor do a different cut of the film. (It hasn't been confirmed which cut of the film was ultimately used.)

After Newsweek put out this video of me talking about the rumors swirling around the internet, a source close to the talent involved DMed me. This source alleged Baldoni's behavior on set made Lively uncomfortable, calling him "creepy."

Of course, neither Lively nor Baldoni have said anything about any of this. The only hint we have as to something being up is Baldoni hiring famed crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan of The Agency Group. Which like, it's never a good look when you need a crisis PR manager, you know what I mean?

With all this out there, the internet is scrutinizing every interview Lively and Baldoni have done for the film. While I often feel like online chatter goes in the direction of conspiracy theories and sexism–both of which is certainly happening here–it's still fascinating that neither star has said anything to quiet some of the drama. (Probably because it's helping the film's box office, which did very well opening weekend, taking in over $50 million. Considering that, the cynic in me must ask, was all of this manifested just to sell tickets?)

Eventually, things spiral out of control when he has to work with an unexpected partner. To promote the film, Clooney and Pitt were interviewed by GQ—and Clooney couldn't help but bring up Russell's name.
