A Double Elimination on 'DWTS' and 'AGT' Crowns a Winner

You wouldn't know it, but two people were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last night. That's because the internet just can't stop talking about con artist Anna Delvey. Let's get into why.

So both Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin) and Tori Spelling were eliminated. Spelling was eliminated because she can't dance but has other talents and is a legitimate star. Delvey was eliminated because she can't dance and, as of this reporting, has proven her only talent is conning people out of money (and maybe that she's a "star").

As the show was ending, one of the hosts asked what she was going to take away from competing on Dancing with the Stars. Delvey replied, "Nothing." There was even another moment where her and her dancing partner, Ezra Sosa, were being interviewed by Good Morning America and Sosa asks, "Did you like dancing with me?" Delvey replies, "Sure."

Listen, I wanted to poke fun at Delvey's apathy because I assumed she was Gen Z, but it turns out she's 33-years-old, which puts her in my box, millennial. To be that old and yet act like a bored, entitled teenager isn't a good look. Maybe her attempting to do that is just her most recent con. Fortunately for all of us, we're not falling for it, and neither were the judges of Dancing with the Stars.

Over on another reality competition show, users on social media were complaining about how long the America's Got Talent finale was last night. But frankly, the juxtaposition between seeing Delvey get the boot on DWTS compared to AGT crowning Richard Goodall the winner, who works as a janitor at a school, made it all worth it. Even better, the second place winner on AGT, Roni Sagi and her dancing dog Rhythm, were also more worthy of our attention than Delvey. (And, for the record, Rhythm danced better too.)

While we're talking about AGT, make sure you listen to my chat with AGT host, Terry Crews, on the Parting Shot podcast.

There's lots more happening on reality TV this week. The Masked Singer returns tonight, but you won't see Rita Ora on the panel. (Love Island host Maya Jama replaced her.) We've also got The Golden Bachelorette and Survivor. I am seated and ready for all of them.

Keep scrolling for more entertainment news. I'll see you on Friday.

Sarah Paulson Descends Into Madness (Again) in 'Hold Your Breath'

By H. Alan Scott

"Can you imagine if the air was just filled with dust particles and you literally could not breathe?" That's what Sarah Paulson is tackling in her new film Hold Your Breath (October 3). Paulson plays Margaret, a Dust Bowl-era mother who's slowly descending into madness after being plagued by a perceived spirit.

"The moment you're confronted with a larger problem, like Margaret is, that very tightly coiled survival tactic quickly just unwinds itself." After a series of performances where Paulson has played women descending into madness, she admits it can take its toll. "There are plenty of actors who just run screaming, and then go sit down and write an email. I'm not that person.... Your brain knows you're pretending, but your body doesn't. The body keeps score."

There's a chance Paulson will be able to take a break from trauma in Ryan Murphy's upcoming legal drama All's Fair starring Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close and Naomi Watts. "It's an embarrassment of riches, really. You want to pay me to go to work, quote, unquote, with the legend that is Glenn Close?"
