The Reality TV Week That Was: Roses, Revelations, and More

If you're anything like me, you use the weekend to catch up on your favorite comfort TV. And for many of us, that means reality TV. So instead of going to see Joker: Folie à Deux (because, wow, that was bad), here's a breakdown of everything that happened this week on reality TV. Obviously, spoilers lie ahead...

Things got emotional over on The Golden Bachelorette, when Joan admitted to the bachelor's that wasn't over her late husband, who died in 2021. Just then, Gerry Turner, last season's Golden Bachelor, showed up. Also a widow, Gerry empathized with Joan, saying it's hard for her because her husband passed just a couple years ago. It's still new. "It's going to be a lot tougher for you than it was for me, and it was tough for me," Gerry said. The tears flowed, but it was just what she needed to hear. She went back and handed out her roses.

The double juggernaut of CBS' reality shows Big Brother and Survivor offered a ton of reality TV gold this week. On Big Brother, we're getting closer and closer to the finale, with yet another houseguest evicted. They gave Kimo the boot, making Chelsie, Cam, Makensy and Rubina the final four this season. Meanwhile, over on Survivor, the edit wants you to believe Andy is the next to go (they even included a line of host Jeff Probst making fun of him), but alas his tribe wasn't even up for Tribal Council. Instead, Aysha got voted out. I spoke with her about it. Give it a watch

Other reality shows to catch up on this weekend include the premiere of the new season of Netflix's Love Island, which follows a group of singles from Washington, D.C. Based on the first few episodes, it's looking like this is going to be a wild season. On The Masked Singer, the Showbird revealed herself to be... Community star Yvette Nicole Brown, which delighted judge and former Community co-star Ken Jeong. And blind auditions are still underway on The Voice, but my favorite singer thus far is 61-year-old Gail Bliss. The flight attendant from South Carolina is the oldest contestant this season and well, I'm here for someone with a little life experience, you know what I mean?

What else are you watching? What should I watch? Let me know at @HAlanScott on everything or in the comments of the latest reality TV recap. Have a great weekend! Keep scrolling and I'll see you Monday!

Garth Brooks Back on Stage After Sexual Assault Allegations

By Billie Schwab Dunn

Garth Brooks has returned to the stage after being accused of sexual assault and battery by a makeup artist in a new lawsuit filed Thursday.

According to the lawsuit obtained by Newsweek, the unidentified woman, referred to as "Jane Roe," claims she started as a hairstylist and makeup artist for Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, in 1999. Brooks hired her for the same role in 2017, according to the lawsuit.

It alleges Brooks violently raped her in a Los Angeles hotel room in May 2019.
