"Who knew that a barrel of maple syrup is worth more than a barrel of oil?" That's what Margo Martindale said to me as we chatted about her new Prime Video series The Sticky, out this Friday.
In the Jamie Lee Curtis produced series, Emmy-winner Martindale plays Ruth Landry, a Canadian syrup farmer who resorts to crime after the government threatens to take away her livelihood. While her character "does have her feet on the ground," she's pushed to the limit and decides "to steal some maple syrup. It's so logical to me." [laughs]
I'm telling you; this show is so good! So fun! So "wackadoodle," as Jamie Lee Curtis described it at the premiere. And on today's Parting Shot podcast, I'm chatting with both Margo Martindale and her co-star, Chris Diamantopoulos, about the series and just how wild of a story it is. (Oh, and it's loosely inspired by real events! Insert head emoji exploding here.)
Go give that a listen. And keep scrolling for more entertainment news. I'll see you this Friday.
